Why Visit Traverse City
I’ve lived in Michigan during the first 15 years of my life, yet never experienced the beauty of Traverse City until a quick cousin trip while visiting the family in the Summer of 2016. Traverse City is located in the northern part of Michigan with year round activities from hiking to snowmobiling, there is fun in every season of Traverse City. It’s also known as “The Cherry Capital of the World”.
Take the opportunity to save $$ prior to your trip and stay along the shoreline of Lake Michigan, where mass abundance of fresh water awaits! Amazing sunsets are free of charge!

Outdoor Adventures in Traverse City
Exercise is important every day, so take time to participate in physical activities during your vacation; walking tours, bike rentals or conquer a sand dune! At Sleeping Bear Dunes, its about a 1.5 mile up to the top, about three hours total roundtrip.

What to Pack for Traverse City
Take along the usual suspects; water, snacks, sunscreen along with a pair of socks to help maneuver the warm sand. Don’t forget to bring your friends and cousins along for encouraging words along the way! Ready. Set. Go!
The rewards are majestic with breathtaking views of Glen Lakes.

Where to Eat in Traverse City
How can I forget about the food in Traverse City? Grab and Go for an impromptu picnic or experience downtown for some good eats and brews. You’ll need to refuel after tackling the dunes. Be sure to save room for dessert! Grand Traverse Pie Company; this was on our list to visit and even though I’m not a pie person, I had to go back for a second slice prior to leaving. Try it warm and a la mode (with ice cream) for a delicious treat.
